A Gentle Promise from Mumsy Natural®

At Mumsy Natural®, we’re here to support mothers on their breastfeeding journey—making it easier, more comfortable, and more joyful. With thoughtfully developed products and compassionate care, our goal is to stand by your side through every step of this beautiful bond.

When it comes to baby care, we believe in the power of natural and edible-grade ingredients to gently protect and nourish delicate skin. Our formulas are crafted to provide effective care without compromise—because your baby’s health and comfort is our highest priority. 🌿💚

How should I use Mumsy Natural® breastfeeding products?

After each feeding, gently cleanse the nipple area with Mumsy Natural® Nipple Cleanser Lotion. Then, apply Mumsy Natural® Nipple Cream to clean, dry skin.

We do not recommend applying breast milk, sesame oil, St. John's wort oil, olive oil, margarine, clay, or baking soda to the nipple area. Oils like olive oil have a high pH and acidic profile, and their oleic acid content can disrupt the skin barrier and increase the risk of fungal growth.

Should I wipe off the nipple cream before nursing?

Many mothers ask this to ensure our products are safe for their babies. Rest assured: our nipple cream is food-grade, natural, and safe. It contains no added fragrance or taste, and all ingredients are dermatologically tested.

However, as a regulated brand, we recommend gently wiping the nipple with sterile water before nursing as a general hygiene measure—especially in cases where basic hygiene may be overlooked. If you maintain good hygiene, wiping is not mandatory.

Do I need both the Nipple Cream and Nipple Cleanser?

We’ve seen greater satisfaction among mothers who use both together. The cleanser enhances the effectiveness of the cream. If your nipples are irritated or have open wounds, we highly recommend using the cleanser.

I feel a stinging or burning sensation after applying the cream. Is that normal?

This is often linked to prior use of products like baking soda solutions, synthetic pads, silver cups, or raw oils (olive oil, lanolin, etc.) that damage the skin barrier.

Mumsy Natural Nipple Cream is not a medical treatment and is not suitable for active infections.

Stop using other products and switch to sterile water for cleaning. If needed, use a small amount of our Natural Diaper Cream to calm inflammation before returning to nipple care with our cleanser and cream.

My cream has white particles in it. Is it spoiled?

No! These pearl-like particles are natural plant oils that solidify in cold temperatures. Gently rub between your fingers; the cream will melt and apply smoothly. Store your products at room temperature (25°C) in a cupboard away from extreme heat or cold.

When should I start using the nipple cream?

Some experienced mothers start weeks before delivery. We recommend starting a few days before birth—once a day is enough.

Why doesn’t Mumsy Natural use lanolin?

Some mothers have sensitivities to lanolin due to pesticide residues, animal-derived proteins, or wool allergies. Our goal is to keep our products safe and inclusive for all mothers.

Can I use the products for anything else?

Yes! Our products are multipurpose:

Nipple Cream:

  • Lubricant for breast pump comfort
  • Extra protection during diaper changes
  • Cracked lips, dry cheeks, cuticles
  • Minor scrapes, redness, and insect bites
  • Soften cradle cap before shampooing

Nipple Cleanser Lotion:

  • Post-shave soothing toner for parents
  • Gentle cleansing for diaper area

Natural Diaper Cream:

  • Dry, irritated skin (infants and adults)
  • Sunburn, mild burns, mosquito bites
  • Elderly care, under-breast irritation
Are these products suitable for eczema?

Avoid using our nipple products on areas with active eczema. For sensitive skin or atopic-prone babies, use our Natural Baby Shampoo and Moisturizing Baby Body Lotion first.

Can I use silver cups or silicone shields?

Do not use silver nipple shields or silicone nipple shields with our breastfeeding products. These can cause nipple confusion and do not resolve the underlying causes of pain or irritation.

I'm using Mumsy Natural breastfeeding products but still experiencing nipple pain.

A brief stinging sensation at the start of a feed is normal. Ongoing pain may suggest incorrect latch. We recommend consulting a lactation expert or reaching out to our certified consultant via Instagram (available during working hours only).

Please note: Our consultant does not offer advice on formulas, bottle-feeding, medical diagnoses, or prescription treatments.

Is the cream suitable for bite wounds?

If the skin is broken from biting, consult your doctor. Our cream is not a substitute for medical treatment of bacterial or fungal infections.

Where can I use the BOO BOO Soothing Stick?

It’s perfect for:

  • Minor scrapes, bug bites, dryness
  • Lips, hands, cheeks, elbows
  • After-sun redness, mild burns

Use it year-round for quick, mess-free comfort.

Can I use rosewater on my baby?

We don’t recommend rosewater on heat rash. It can block pores and worsen symptoms. Use Mumsy Natural Heat Rash Lotion instead—a soap-free formula that calms itch and keeps pores clean.

Why choose natural skincare?

Natural ingredients are minimally processed, free of synthetic additives, and retain their full botanical integrity. They offer safe, effective care and support long-term health and well-being.

What about sensitive or atopic-prone skin?

Try our Natural Baby Shampoo and Moisturizing Baby Body Lotion. These formulas support delicate skin and help reduce dryness.

How can I treat cradle cap?

Apply Nipple Cream to soften flakes, gently comb, then wash with our Natural Baby Shampoo.

What is prebiotic skincare, and why does it matter?

Your baby’s skin is home to millions of beneficial microbes. Prebiotics feed these microbes, helping the skin barrier stay strong and healthy. Our products contain inulin and botanical proteins that support this balance.

Why is baby skin more sensitive?

Compared to adults, baby skin is:

  • 30% thinner
  • More prone to water loss
  • Still developing its protective barrier

Daily hydration is essential. Our lotion locks in moisture for up to 96 hours while reinforcing the skin’s natural defense.

What makes Mumsy Natural different?

We use unrefined, additive-free, preservative-free ingredients. Every formula is dermatologically tested for safety and efficacy.
